Modifying Type
This project is called "Modifying Type". I chose the typeface Gil Sans. I chose this typeface specifically because of how the "A" and "E" looked. The typeface looked different from other traditional typefaces. There are curves and points in places on specific letters that I had not seen before. I chose the word pineapple not only because it was 9 letters, but also because I had a notebook in front of me with pineapples all over it. I thought it would be perfect to use and illustrate.

The first variation has a solid black, bold fill. The second variation has stripes. Making it look like dotted lines. The third has pineapple leaves on the tops of a few letters. I chose them at random. The fourth variation has black on the left half of each of the enclosed parts of the letters. The fifth variation has a crosshatching pattern with a black outline. The final variation has pineapple spikes on the leg and stem of each letter.
